All the oral presentations and posters should refer to paleopathology either from a general point of view or with the presentation of case studies.
The presentations will be organized in:
- General sessions: methodology, new studies and analysis techniques, specific cases.
Paleopathology research of ancient Egypt is increasingly becoming an interdisciplinary subject, going beyond simple description.
This session aims to deepen our knowledge about
the pathologies present in skeletons and mummified remains of this region and
open research to studies that are already usual in other cultural horizons. The
chronological scope of this session goes beyond the pharaonic periods, looking
forward to better understand health conditions in ancient Egyptian society as
whole, a lesser-known aspect of their daily life.
This session will focus on case and population
pathology studies, including proposals on diagnostic methodology and specific
terminology.
The oral communications will have a maximum duration of 10 minutes and only electronic supports in PowerPoint will be accepted.
Posters may have a maximum size of 120 cm (length/height) x 85 cm (width) - (DINA 0), with free drawing and layout.
The posters will be delivered to the reception as soon as possible so that they can be displayed during all the days of the congress.
Oral presentation of the posters is planned. It will have a maximum duration of 3 minutes and only 2-3 slices in PowerPoint support will be accepted.Abstracts of presentations (oral communication or poster) must be submitted with a title, the name of the author(s), the institutional address(s) and e-mails, a maximum of 300 words and 4-6 keywords. The corresponding author must be indicated.
The abstracts in English must be submitted with a translation into Spanish or Catalan.
Abstracts will be subject to review by the scientific committee.
Both oral communications and posters should be presented preferably in Spanish, but can also be made in English or Catalan.
It will be possible to communicate in other languages if necessary (Portuguese, Italian and French), but there will be no translation service available.
Non-Spanish speakers must remember to speak slowly and clearly, especially when presenting to an audience whose language may not be English or Catalan.The papers presented at the congress will be published in a book published by the Museu Arqueològic de Catalunya (MAC).
The edition of the conference proceedings book is scheduled for 2023.
